Once the liquid just starts to boil start timing for 5 minutes.
Recipe for deviled quail eggs. Rinse the eggs under warm water. Place quail eggs in a medium saucepan and cover with several inches cold water. Hard boil 2 large chicken eggs to add the yokes to your quail egg filling later.
Drain and cool under cold running water then peel them. Cut each egg in half. Peel eggs to remove the shell and then slice eggs in half.
Put the eggs in a pot filled with cold water cover with a lid and bring to a boil. Quail egg shells and membranes are much tougher than chicken eggs. Turn off heat and let sit 2 minutes stirring several times to ensure even cooking.
Fill a bowl with cold water and tranfer the eggs to the bowl. Boil for 3 to 4 minutes depending on. Bring to a boil.
Turn the heat off and let the eggs sit for 2 mins. Bring to a boil and cook for 4 minutes. Cover eggs with 2 inches of water in a medium saucepan.
Cover and bring to a boil over high heat. Fill a small saucepan 2 3 of the way full with water and bring to a boil. Let sit for 1 minute.
