Vegan Apple Pie Recipe
Combine brown sugar 1 2 cup vegan margarine 1 4 cup white sugar rice milk 3 tablespoons flour cinnamon and nutmeg in a saucepan.
Vegan apple pie recipe. Sprinkle it over the filling before baking. Dot the apples with half of the vegan margarine. Then add the vegan butter and mix it in with your hands until you have crumbs.
First make a mixture of all purpose flour cane sugar and salt in a large bowl then stir until smooth. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees f. Stir the rest of the softened vegan margarine into the brown sugar.
Cook and stir over medium heat until margarine melts and brown sugar is dissolved 3 to 5 minutes. Then add 2 tablespoons of ice water and stir to moisten the dough. Toss until the apples are well coated.
Cover the pie with foil after about 30 minutes to prevent the topping from burning. Tuck edge of top dough under bottom dough to seal. Add ice water only as much as needed and mix it into a ball of dough.
Next drop the solid coconut oil pieces into the mixture little by little and stir until it gets a sand like consistency. Peel and core apples then thinly slice. Skip the top crust and instead mix up 1 3 cup of flour 1 4 cup of brown sugar 1 teaspoon of cinnamon 1 4 teaspoon of salt and 3 tablespoons of vegan butter or coconut oil.
The crust is a simple mix of all purpose flour sugar salt vegan butter and ice water. Place the sliced apples in the prepared pie crust. Transfer apple mixture to pie shell brush edge with water and place second dough round on top.
