Recipe Apple Pie With Streusel Topping
Remove from oven and distribute streusel evenly over the top of the pie.
Recipe apple pie with streusel topping. Heap the apples up high in each shell and fill completely. Sprinkle evenly over top of pie. Make the streusel by cutting the cold butter into a bowl adding flour sugar cinnamon and nutmeg if using.
Add the granulated sugar brown sugar flour and cinnamon to the apples and toss to coat. Make flour sugar mix. Bake pie on bottom rack of oven for about 25 minutes.
Sprinkle topping on top of each. Put apple mixture into pie shell. In a bowl stir ingredients together until all one color beige and set aside.
Mix peeled and sliced apples in a large bowl with sugar salt cinnamon nutmeg and flour. Toss gently together and set aside. Once all are cut and covered set the apple bowl aside.
Combine the 1 cup of granulated sugar and the 3 tablespoons of flour the 1 2 teaspoon of cinnamon and the cloves in a small bowl. Into a bowl peel core and slice a few apple slices stir and cover well with the flour sugar mixture as you go. Mix thoroughly then cut in 1 2 cup butter or margarine until mixture is crumbly.
While filling is baking make streusel topping. Pour the coated apples into the unbaked pastry pies shell. Bake at 350 degrees f 175 degrees c for 50 minutes.
