Recipe Acorn Squash Maple Syrup
Scoop out and discard seeds from squash.
Recipe acorn squash maple syrup. Brush the cut sides with olive oil and sprinkle the squash with 3 teaspoons kosher salt and 1 teaspoon. Cut a slice off the bottom of each piece so that it sits evenly skin side down in a 9 x 13 inch glass baking dish. In the hollow of each piece place 1 teaspoon unsalted butter 1 tablespoon maple syrup cinnamon and nutmeg to taste.
Turn squash cut side up. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Preheat oven to 350.
Bake uncovered for 45 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Place on the sheet cut side down and cook for 1 hour or until the squash is tender with the tip of a knife.
Split the squash into thirds and remove the seeds. Heat oven to 350 degrees. On a work surface cut the squash in half lengthwise and remove the seeds.
Place 1 2 tablespoon butter and 1 2 tablespoon maple syrup in the cavity of each squash. Pour into squash halves. If necessary drain water from pan.
