Acorn Squash Recipe Maple Syrup Brown Sugar
Combine syrup brown sugar cinnamon ginger and salt.
Acorn squash recipe maple syrup brown sugar. In a deep baking dish add enough water to cover the bottom of the dish. Place the squash facing up in the dish. Sprinkle with brown sugar salt and pepper.
Spread the butter all over each half of the squash. Place cut side down in a 13x9 in. Bake at 400 f 205 c for about an hour to an hour 15 minutes until the tops of the squash halves are nicely browned and the squash flesh is very soft and cooked through.
Roast until fork tender and fragrant about 25 minutes. Crumble a tablespoon of brown sugar into the center of each half and drizzle with a teaspoon of maple syrup. Turn squash cut side up.
Preheat oven to 350. 2 tbl melted butter unsalted. Pour out any liquid that may have collected in the squash.
Meanwhile simmer butter maple syrup brown sugar black pepper and cayenne pepper in a small skillet over medium heat until smooth and the sugar has dissolved about 3 minutes stirring occasionally. Pour into squash halves. Sprinkle squash with salt pepper and brown sugar and bake until soft and golden brown about 30 40 minutes.
If necessary drain water from pan. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes. Sprinkle with brown sugar then drizzle with maple syrup.
