Apple Hand Pie Recipe
Shape each into a ball then flatten into a disk.
Apple hand pie recipe. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for 1 hour. We used a 4 1 2 inch round cookie biscuit cutter next add 1 2 tablespoons of the apple pie filling to each round. Combine flour and salt.
Fill the hand pies. These apple hand pies are easy to make and such a fun treat to serve. Fold dough over filling leaving about 1 inch of dough on the bottom side visible below the top side.
These are the bottom crusts. In a small bowl whisk together the egg yolk and water for the egg wash. These are the top crusts.
Divide dough in half. Form a dough piece into a ball place on a floured work surface and roll into a circle about 8 inches in diameter. Preheat oven to 375 degrees f.
Marc matsumoto of fresh tastes. Using a paring knife cut a few small slits on the top of each hand pie then sprinkle generously with coarse sugar. Remove the chilled hand pies from the refrigerator and lightly brush with the egg yolk wash.
Use a 4 5 inch round cookie cutter to cut out 10 11 mini pie crusts. Using a sharp knife cut slits into the remaining circles. In a large bowl beat cream cheese and butter until smooth.
