Recipe For Chicken Pot Pie Made With Phyllo Dough
Combine the 2 tablespoons of olive oil with just a pinch of salt in a small bowl.
Recipe for chicken pot pie made with phyllo dough. Simmer over med low for a few minutes. A rich chicken pot pie covered in phyllo dough that comes out of the oven rich and creamy with a lovely light and crispy top of phyllo dough. Stir in green peas and shredded chicken.
Pour in chicken broth and use a wooden spoon to scrape up brown bits from the bottom of the pan. Stir in the peas and the diced chicken and set aside until ready to use. Add diced chicken salt pepper sage and thyme.
Allow the mixture to simmer stirring often about 5 minutes or until slightly thickened. Add 4 to 5 layers of dough to the top of the filling making sure that all of the filling is covered see notes. Line a 2 quart casserole dish with 1 2 the phyllo dough to make a bottom crust.
Add onions potatoes chicken mixed vegetables cream of mushroom soup and gravy to the bowl with the bacon and mix well. While the pot pie bakes make the cheese gravy. Remove the pan from the heat add the chicken and set aside.
Pour in turkey mixture. A buttery puff pastry pie crust butter flour chicken broth milk chicken meat or turkey and vegetables carrots celery peas. Spray each sheet with cooking spray before adding to the top of the filling.
Roll out the pie dough so that it is a 1 4 thick. The recipe is not mine but one of my favorites that comes from athens foods. I have made this several times with excellent results each time.
