Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour until the squash is tender when pierced with a fork.
Baked acorn squash recipe paula deen. In a small mixing bowl combine the brown sugar butter syrup and salt and pepper to taste. Add the butter brown sugar pineapple and salt and pepper to a saucepan. Spoon pecan mixture over squash wedges and bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until tender.
Remove from heat and stir in pecans. In a small bowl mix together the brown sugar butter and syrup adding salt and pepper to taste. Rub the squash cavities and the cut sides of the squash with the butter mixture and place them on a baking sheet cut side up.
Serve 1 half per person. Cut your squash in half and scoop out the seeds and pulp. Cook stirring constantly just until sugar dissolves.
Coat the squash with the sugar mixture then place them face up on a baking sheet. Simmer on medium heat while stirring until syrupy about 5 minutes. Bake for about an hour or until the squash is tender when poked with a fork or knife.
Add brown sugar maple syrup salt vanilla and ginger.
